As an Early Head Start Intern you’ll assist our staff in providing high quality in-home education, support and monitoring to parents and assist them in guiding their child's early years before entering Pre-K. This unpaid internship opportunity that will provide real-world experience within a multigenerational and multicultural client setting!

YOU WILL:

  • Support the home visitors by helping to develop the curriculum during home visits and family group activities
  • Support in facilitating family group activities and socialization experiences
  • Support the family support workers with monthly calendars and flyers
  • Coordinate and develop an outreach event weekly
  • Provide education and support services to families
  • Support home visitors by developing appropriate family goals 
  • Assist in the pre- and post-checklist at socialization
  • Prepare supplies and decorations for county celebrations
  • Assist with cleaning and sanitizing all toys and equipment 
  • Develop relationships with families that are respectful, culturally responsive and trusting 
  • Perform data entry into applicable databases

  • An interest in providing education to parents with young children
  • Strong organizational skills and a tireless focus on quality results
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal and communication skills that allow you to work well with diverse teams, clients and families
  • Resiliency, with a propensity to persevere in spite of constant change
  • A sincere passion for helping others in need

YOU NEED:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree program in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Elementary Education (with certification to work with birth to 6th grade) or related field
  • Proficiency  in computer systems and MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
