    The Director of Volunteer Services leads the development and execution of a statewide volunteer and donor engagement strategy in support of CHS’s mission and strategic intent to help grow philanthropy revenue.  This involves overseeing corporate and regional volunteer cultivation, including the National Service VISTA program, and supervising the in-kind donation management program.  Overall, the Director of Volunteer Services contributes to the CHS high performance culture by exhibiting our values and providing quality results that keep CHS as the premier provider of child, family and behavioral health support services.

    Responsibilities

    YOU WILL: 

     

    Lead the development and execution of a volunteer and in-kind donation cultivation and engagement program that supports the achievement of the CHS mission and strategy across the state of Florida.

     

    Volunteer Cultivation & Engagement

    • Develop and implement an overall volunteer outreach plan.
    • Assist local regions in identifying and cultivating volunteers, leveraging them as door openers and relationship builders.
    • Oversee the development and implementation of a system to support regions in terms of volunteer workloads and outcomes.
    • Verify that the volunteers reflect the diversity of the communities serviced and reinforce an environment of inclusion.
    • Manage develop and implementation of volunteer policies to verify compliance with accrediting/regulatory agencies.
    • Support the cultivation of additional volunteer resources through community engagement efforts.

    National Service VISTA Program Administration

    • Oversee the management of the National Service VISTA volunteer program, including an annual program budget.
    • Partner with the Grants Team to develop and apply for the annual VISTA program grant and any associated renewals.
    • Verify partnerships with local regions and offices to administer the program at the community level, including but not limited to recruitment, placement, orientation, training, engagement, evaluation and recognition of program participants.
    • Oversee the creation of a statewide VISTA Advisory Committee.

    In-Kind Donation Program Management

    • Manage the development and implementation of targeted strategies for new and existing donors, vendors and suppliers.
    • Partner with regions to develop and execute community-specific programs.
    • Facilitate logistics regarding in-kind donations and oversee the pro poser processing of donations.
    • Develop and execute policies and procedures for accurate in-kind donation data tracking and reporting.
    • Attend networking events to learn more about potential donors in the community and provide information about the impact of CHS and partnership opportunities.
    • Provide appropriate stewardship of in-kind gifts, via acknowledgement letters, phone calls, adherence to donor gift policies and the sharing of how gifts are being used to benefit CHS and its constituents.
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive recognition program specific to in-kind donators, suppliers and vendors.

    Qualifications

    YOU NEED:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Research, Information Systems or related field
    • Five years of experience in fundraising/philanthropy with emphasis on donor research and analysis
    • Five years of experience in fundraising database management
    • Experience in child welfare, human or social services, strongly preferred
