    As a Director of Special Events you will manage and provide strategic direction for all special events and activities throughout designated area and maintain a comprehensive effort to increase financial support. Overall, the Director of Special Events contributes to the CHS high performance culture by exhibiting our values and providing quality results that keep CHS as the premier provider of child, family and behavioral health support services.

    Responsibilities

    YOU WILL:

    • Develop and coordinates fund raising special events to achieve CHS mission priorities and income targets
    • Manages, coach and support the special events team to promote successful execution; verifying that responsibilities and accountabilities of all direct reports are well defined.
    • Responsible to build a strategic plan focusing on special event success factors as determined by an analysis of key drivers to strengthen event growth in all areas.
    • Responsible to monitor financial expenditures and progress against budgetary plan; takes appropriate measures to meet goals and confirming a high return on investment in meeting revenue targets.
    • Responsible for effectively and efficiently completing activities, meeting target deadlines and benchmarks to meet financial goals by executing successful events within a specific market.
    • Responsible for planning a successful large-scale mass-market event, including but not limited to meeting revenue targets, event logistics, volunteer recruitment and management that delivers an outstanding customer experience.
    • Analyze donor experience results and verifies that a strategy to increase donor satisfaction is developed and implemented.
    • Manage pipeline development, account planning, forecasting, engagement of prospects and high-level volunteer cultivation.
    • Cultivates relationships with targeted systems/ organizations/ contact, including sponsors, participants and volunteers.
    • Identifies and executes best practices; driving community relevance through customer centric and innovative strategies.
    • Strategically plan and support activation on available tools and processes to maximize event results, including but not limited to online and peer-to-peer fundraising.
    • Build strong internal and external relationships to recruit highly skilled and diverse community volunteer leadership and committees, and include them into action.
    • Models and fosters behavior that establishes a culture that values the staff/volunteer partnership, and is consistent with the values, goals and objectives of CHS.
    • Recruit, develop and lead a special events Team capable of supporting CHS performance and growth strategies while fostering an engaging, positive work environment.

     

    Qualifications

    YOU NEED:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Philanthropy or related degree from an accredited university
    • Three years of experience in fundraising, outside sales or similar capacity in a non-profit environment
    • Demonstrated success in engagement and mobilization of volunteers
    • Management experience
