    We’re seeking a Thrift Store Operations Assistant to support our growing needs for our Upscale Thrift Shop. Our thrift shop is a community led effort where all profits help create stronger families and brighter futures for kids. You’ll assist with the daily operations of the shop, including providing excellent customer service to both the customers and volunteers, and developing successful marketing plans for year-round clothing and furniture drives. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong customer service skills who has a passion for making a positive difference in their community and thrives in a fast-paced, never-the-same work environment.




    • Provide customers and volunteers with excellent customer service.
    • Operate a cash register, reconcile cash with sales receipts and keep records of transactions.
    • Sort, clean, price, stock, arrange, inventory, and rotate merchandise as scheduled.
    • Organize, clean and sustain orderly appearance of the shop daily.
    • Comply with policies and procedures, security, safety, sales and record keeping procedures and practices.
    • May specialize in coordinating the operations of the thrift shop:
      • Assist with managing volunteers including but not limited to attending meetings, setting schedules using Outlook, orientation, training, assigning duties and providing direction.
      • Report sales to supervisor at established intervals.
      • Coordinate and/or assist with donation pick up and delivery and preparing the floor for incoming items to be strategically placed for sale 
    • May specialize in marketing activities related to the thrift shop:
      • Recruit donations and otherwise support Division fundraising and sales promotion activities as directed.
      • Provide updates on outcome of marketing strategies at established intervals.
      • Evaluate price and post unique and/or valuable items on internet sales outlets.
      • Assist in managing social media pages related to the thrift store.   



    • Working knowledge of the retail field
    • Strong organizational skills and a tireless focus on quality results
    • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal and communication skills that allow you to work well with diverse teams, clients and families
    • Resiliency, with a propensity to persevere in spite of constant change
    • A sincere passion for helping others in need


    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Six months of retail or related experience
    • Valid Florida Driver’s license within 30 days of hire
