    PROGRAM NAME: Early Head Start 
    OBJECTIVE:  To provide in-home education, support and monitoring for Early Head Start participants and group socialization experiences while supporting a group of EHS Home Visitors. 
    Home Visitor Essential Functions:
    - Conduct weekly home visits to Early Head Start children and their families of

      a duration mandated by contract requirements.
    - Deliver child development curriculum during home visits and in family group

    - Facilitate family group activities and socialization experiences.
    - Provide education and support services to families.
    - Conduct screening and developmental assessment of participant children.
    - Work with families to develop appropriate goals as part of family partnership

    - Encourage parental involvement in curriculum planning, program governance

      and other aspects of the Early Head Start Programs.
    - Monitor and evaluate children’s health status, medical appointments and

    - Provide information and referral as needed.
    - Advocate on behalf of program participants.
    - Document program activities and progress.
    - May transport clients.
    - Perform data entry into applicable databases.
    - Participate in the quality management process.

    Lead Essential Functions:
    - Review the accuracy and completeness of reports of assigned staff.
    - Assist program staff with Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment and

      Attendance (ERSEA) compliance and protocols.
    - Lead program socialization planning and implementation providing guidance

      to staff and monitoring documentation of activities.
    - Advise staff of statutory mandates, agency policies and procedures, and

      programmatic requirements. 
    - Discuss case issues and provide guidance to help staff develop and make

      sound case decisions. 
    - Model, teach, and coach good case management and family engagement

    - Utilize database reports to monitor outcomes and EHS requirements to

      support staff and/or projects assigned by supervisor. 
    -  Assist supervisors in providing training and procedural changes to staff. 
    - Serve as acting supervisor in the absence of the supervisor.

    REQUIRED: All degrees must be from an accredited university.


    - Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Education, or Social Sciences related

    - Two years experience working with young children and families in a human

      services setting
    - One year experience working as a EHS Home Visitor or similar position
    - Florida Driver’s License within 30 days from hire


    - Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate
    - Previous experience working in a social services organization


    - Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
    - Effective verbal and written communication skills
    - Ability to make home visits/travel
    - Ability to learn computer skills sufficient to perform all essential functions
    - Ability to be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic

    - Commitment to effectively and efficiently providing customer satisfaction with

      positive service delivery results
    - Excellent organizational skills
    - Ability to work in a diverse environment
    - Excellent interpersonal skills
    - Strong attention to detail.
    - Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products
    - Ability to act decisively when necessary to protect client

    - Ability to observe and report accurately on the functioning of individuals and

    - Knowledge of community resources
